Community Integration

At Abundant Heart, our mission is to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their academic and personal lives. This is not only for neurotypical students but for neurodivergent students as well. We have decades of experience providing services for students who are neurodivergent and pride ourselves on tutoring the whole student. This may mean that on some days there will be less focus on academics and more on Social Emotional Learning in order to maintain the regulation of our students. Each session is treated on a case by case basis. Each session has a primary focus and if the primary focus has to be adjusted we are able to adjust with our students.

Neurodivergent definition:

"having or relating to a disorder or condition (such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, or obsessive-compulsive disorder) that impacts the way the brain processes information : exhibiting or characteristic of variations in typical neurological development" - Merriam-Webster

How are we different?

We approach tutoring in a different manner. Along with our core subjects we also focus on Community integration for our neurodivergent students. We use evidence based practices found in the ABA methodology to aid in positive behavioral changes, improvements in social growth as well as improvements in communication skills.
